Friends, Family, and Rotarians… Bienvenue!
I am very happy to announce that I have finally arrived in Paris, “La Ville-Lumière”, (The City of Light)! Watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle as I type, I can tell you that the city lives up to its reputation. Streetlights, signs and lit windows speckle the horizon, and Paris glows with life throughout the night. I have been here one short month and I have already been enlightened to the fast pace of big-city living, to the taste of the world’s best cuisine and to my serious lack of fashion sense. All kidding aside, I am SO thankful for this incredible opportunity, granted to me by Dr. Louis Capozzoli, the Sunrise Rotary Club of Baton Rouge, and the Rotary Foundation. I am radiating with excitement for a year of studies (en Français of course), of speeches, and of service above self. Illuminated with curiosity, I am learning as much as I can about French culture, history, art, and, of course, food. I hope that by reading this blog you, too, can experience “la Vie en Rose!”
